As the operator of a B2B storefront, you have control over how business buyers access your platform, interact with your catalog, and complete their purchases. Spree provides core B2B admin tools in its free Community Edition, with buyer organizations and catalogs coming in Spree 6.0, and enterprise-grade approval and integration workflows available in Enterprise Edition.

Community Edition

The following admin capabilities are available out of the box.

Customer Segmentation

  • Create Customer Groups to classify buyers into wholesale tiers, trade accounts, distributor categories, or any custom segment
  • Add customers to groups directly from the admin, and apply pricing automatically when they log in
  • Use Customer Groups as rule conditions in promotions and price lists to restrict offers to specific buyer types

Pricing

  • Build Price Lists with Customer Group rules to ensure each segment always sees their correct contracted pricing
  • Combine Customer Group and Market rules on a single price list to deliver region-specific wholesale pricing in the correct currency
  • Set volume pricing rules that activate based on order quantity
  • Schedule price lists for a defined period or leave them open-ended
  • Activate, deactivate, or schedule price lists directly from the admin dashboard

Market Configuration

  • Create Markets for different regions, each with its own currency, language, and tax settings
  • Use Markets as a rule condition in Price Lists to apply region-specific pricing without duplicating products
  • Configure VAT-inclusive pricing per market for EU compliance

Gated Storefronts

  • Require buyers to log in before they can browse products or see prices
  • Keep catalog and pricing information confidential from anonymous visitors
  • Restrict your storefront to approved trade accounts only

Coming in Spree 6.0

The following features are on the open-source roadmap and will be available in Spree 6.0.

Buyer Organizations

  • Associate buyers with a parent company account, including locations and contacts
  • Manage multiple users operating under the same business account

B2B Catalogs

  • Create curated product assortments for specific buyer segments
  • Show different subsets of your catalog to different customer groups
